 Radiation Oncology deals with the treatment of cancer with ionizing radiation. Working with both specialists and primary care physicians, Dr. Norman Schulman, Medical Director, provides a multidisciplinary team approach to the care of patients with cancer.

    Dr. Schulman has been treating patients in the Wyoming Valley for over 30 years. At his Forty Fort location, just minutes from Wilkes-Barre, he offers Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT), Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT), Three-Dimensional Radiation Therapy Planning, Stereotactic Radiosurgery , and Diagnostic Spiral CT Scanning.

     RMS of NEPA  is pleased to introduce Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT): At the beginning of August, Radiation Medicine Specialists of Northeast Pennsylvania in Forty Fort upgraded its Siemens linear accelerator with equipment that creates three-dimensional images of the tumor sites. Having such images available during treatment, enables the radiation oncologist to deliver more cancer-killing radiation to the sites and less to surrounding healthy tissue. Radiation Medicine Specialists is the second in the state and the ninth in the country to offer the cone beam technology for improved accuracy.

   With advanced treatments and therapies once only available in large metropolitan hospitals, Radiation Medicine Specialists brings unmatched technology and ease of access to the people of Northeast Pennsylvania.
